The main rail line runs alongside the TVR so of course there was freight trains to watch while waiting for our ride. As it's still the winter season we just had a short ride to East Chattanooga, watched the engine being turned on the turntable, and visited the workshop before returning to Grand Junction. Cliff rode back in the cab of the engine!
On our way back through town we stopped off at the Dragon Museum. This is a collection of various dragon artifacts collected from all over the world.
When we visited Crossville Model Railrod Mike had very kindly told Cliff about a model shop in Chattanooga, so that was our next stop - to buy more engines and trucks to add to his collection!
Tomorrow we have to sit down and work out where we are going next. We had intended to head North East up the Blue Ridge Parkway, but with the weather so bad (more storms on the way, and snow coming down from the North) I think we are going to have to backtrack and head West towards the sunshine, so check back in a couple of days to find out where we are.
