What I did
Today was overcast and grey, with a fine rain, so we decided we would visit Ruby Falls as that was underground. Once again the cavern formations were amazing, but Ruby Falls is very commercialized, and our guide seemed intent on getting us to the Falls and back out again in the shortest possible time, which didn't include time for taking photos. The Falls themselves were quite spectacular, and our timed five minute visit included a light display and a walk behind the waterfall.
When we returned to the surface we climbed the Lookout Tower for views across the Tennessee River but unfortunately it was very misty. As the weather wasn't very good we decided it was a day for laundry. The campsite laundry is being renovated however, and is already overdue for completion, so we headed into town to find a laundromat.
Currently we are surrounded by a weather front that is causing havoc in Kentucky and Ohio. Luckily at the moment we don't have much rain, and only a little thunderstorm; hopefully we are being protected by the mountains.
