In the afternoon I went to Oberammergau. Oberammergau is on of the best known town in Upper Baveria.. Its region rests on its painted houses, and it is the center of the colorful style of tromp-l'oeil house-painting known as Luftmalerei, which is typical of the region. The town also has an international reputation for its Passion play, which has been performed here at Easter ever since 1633, when an epidemic of the plague finally passed.
