Today was another laid back day in the middle of the ocean.  The seas were calm all day and despite the fact that it is Sunday we had class.  I participated in the usual routine of class, lunch, then a little homework while lying out on the deck.  We docked in Senegal today to get fuel with more success then our last attempt at Gibraltar. We were in port at Dakar for five hours but no one was allowed to get off the ship.  It is starting to get much hotter and I love it because the breeze off the ocean makes it just cool enough to lie out without sweating.  I went to dinner a little early so that I could make it to worship.  We sang praise and worship songs and then had a speaker that talked about "where is our home?"  Afterwards I had my first small group bible study.  I am in one with five other girls named Lindsay, Grace, Ashley, Candace, and Haley.  I hang out with Ashley a lot on board and Haley goes to Clemson with me but all the other girls I just met for the first time.  It's a good group though and I am thankful that my living learning coordinator Jason has done such a good job at organizing small group and planning worship.  I have heard that on past voyages many of the extra activities provided on board are student led and organized and therefore a lot harder to get up and running.  However it seems like I have an extra special staff group on board because there is so much nicely organized activities on board.  Later on in the night I watched the MDP (Mobile Dance Party) dance their way around the ship.  They were having a blast making sure they went and danced in every room.  I played cards with a big group and two of my buddies that I met when I first got on the ship, Liz and Patricia.  We played Nerts for a while before heading up to pub night.  I have never seen so many people on the seventh deck in my life!  There were ridiculous lines to wait in to get a drink too!  I think everybody decided to come tonight because tomorrow is Neptune day.  They are going to wake us up early for the ceremonies and then we have all day to take it easy.
