Great to be back with Mr Musavi at his Firouzeh Hotel as part of our pitstop as we head west for Athens. Also a chance for some souvenir photos of the newspapers to help me remember the stilted headlines that gave me a laugh each day (photos attached).

We bit the bullet and have copped a 42 hour bus trip from Athens to istanbul in an attempt to make up time, mindful of the all the "never again" statements we made after our last overnight bus trip im Turkey. So now we have a trip over two nights. Sort of not hypocritical if you look at it from a certain angle.

Very much an 'in and out' stop and one that allows us a second round of farewells to favoured hotels and eating spots. We both particularly enjoyed a capstone moment to end our trip when - after a quick and very easy assessment - the taxi driver assessed us as foreigners he turned off his local radio and inserted a CD labelled USA Music. So it was that we were serenaded with Tatu - All the Things She Said (The Album) all the way out to the bus station.

So what if they're Russian. They're women. They're singing, so they're sure as hell not from around here - and that met with everyone's approval.

One day, Dannii Minogue will be HUGE here.
