Punte del Este does not boast the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, but it is glamorous town and worth a visit. I just wish I had more time here! It was a bit of a hassle to get to Punte del Este from BA, and I only spent one afternoon on the beach. Nevertheless, I managed to enjoy myself and met some fun people at my hostel, 1949, including a few I had met before.

Some highlights of my visit include:

1. Sunset visit to Casa Pueblo - here I ran into an old friend from Barcelona, who I had met in Bolivia
2. Dinner with Pablo (one of my new friends) at one of Punte's great seafood restaurants
3. People watching on one of the main beaches, which was packed with vacationers from Argentina - reminded me a bit of Miami, in terms of the number of plastic women you see!
