Just got into Brisbane, and still recovering from my night in Surfer's Paradise. We arrived yesterday evening, and got picked up, not in a boring white van like most hostels, but a red 1966 Cadillac Deville. We sang with the Frank Sinatra CD, while cruising down the highway, which reminded me of a strip in Florida. The hostels were having a 70s night at a local bar, so we got to dress up and drink cheap punch. The bar was lots of fun, especially since a lot of guys were dressed as women.

The day before we were in Byron Bay, which is a hippie/tourist town. On Sunday, there was a market, which had amazing food and live music. Later that day we bumped into a random drumming circle, and later that night we went to a bar and saw 2 great bands. So we saw 3 shows for nothing.

These couple of days were very random, we didn't have many plans except for going to the beach. But we did plan the rest of our trip (Daniele is leaving Cairns on Feb 28). We have the days mapped out so that we are going to Fraser Island next weekend, then a 3-day sailing trip through the Whitsundays later that week.
