It still hasn't been terribly hot. Apparently whenever Jamie and I travel to a hot area they end up experiencing the coldest wettest weather they've had in a long time. Of that is to say that it's not actually cold. It's still in the mid to high 80's and humid as hell.

In between thunderstorms we did manage to get quite a lot of sun, and when that sun does come out things heat up pretty quickly. So we decided to take another trip over to WalMart (yes we are addicted, it's so damn cheap: sorry small businesses) to pick up some rafts for the pool since inexplicably no one actually uses the pool and we can actually fit rafts in it. It's not like the pool is the black lagoon or anything either. It's actually really nice. Of course the highway isn't too far off so we can hear that. But if you close your eyes and drink enough it almost sounds like the surf at the beach. Almost.

We took it easy for the rest of the day and decided to have an easy night. So naturally we walked over to Dave and Buster's ( a block away) to have some drinks and play some shuffle board. Now it's not the shuffle board the old folks play at the retirement homes. This shuffle board is more like curling on the pucks are made of metal, weigh about 8 oz., and you slide them on a wooden surface covered in sand and salt. (See the pics.)

After a few games of shuffle board we went to the back room to play video games (if you haven't been to a D&Bs it's like Jillian's on steroids.) After meeting the manager Charlie and having a few drinks on the house, we naturally end up staying until close.

I forgot to mention the lamborghini parked in front of D&B's and the completely unnecessary valet parking that every place has. Again, fifth fattest city. But more about that later.

We stumbled back to the apartment and figure it's time to introduce Janelle to our other roommates, The Band. After about four songs she was asleep, but Jamie, Mike and I finished it. Bed time - almost 4am. Welcome to Texas.
