Gerry found a reference to this culinary walking tour ( www.istanbulonfood.com) on Trip Advisor which sounded interesting so we signed up to take it today. It a small company run by a local young (29) Turkish fellow and his Australian wife. We spent almost 6 hours walking the back streets of both the European and Asian sides of Istanbul, tasting a total of 22 (yes, that many) Turkish food items from street food to those often eaten in homes. It was quite a tour and we were stuffed by the end. Most of the items eaten were good to great; only a few made the "that has to be an acquired taste" category. Virtually all the food tasted ( other than the baklava which we recognize) would never had made our "to try" list if we had been out on our own looking for food to taste. The tour was definitely a winner and a must do for people who might be in Istanbul.

After a one hour nap back at the hotel we met with our tour group and tour leader for the next two weeks, Atakan. He briefed us on the highlights and what to expect on the trip. There are 40 people on this trip and it seems to be an "older" crowd. As usual, there are many Australians, (who always seem to be on a vacation), a few Canadians and I assume the rest are Americans. We will get a full list tomorrow.

And the rest of the story (From Yvonne)
Sue and I determined that "Noah's Pudding" was what Noah's wife found left-over in the galley. Turkish Children were told that this is what Noah fed the animals.

What are you doing in Istanbul ? Don't you have a home.
Sounds like a great trip.
