I got up this morning and went for a run along the banks of the Aude River. It was beautiful, rolling green hills, the river, the walled city above! I went back to La Cīte, climbed up on the outer wall and walked along its top as far as I could, then wandered the ancient streets some more. As I came back through Ville Basse, people were enjoying a lazy Sunday. Most shops were closed, some boys were fishing under one of the bridges, locals strolled the lovely trails along the Aude and picnicked. The place exuded the happy peacefulness of people content in their lives.

Note* All of these pictures are a bonus. Yesterday, I took three photos when I arrived, and then the last camera battery went dead. I scoured the village. Nothing. I found out if I put the dead ones back in, I could squeeze 2-3 more photos out of each!
