Oh my god I am so sore! Sleeping last night was so uncomfy as every time I went to roll over my legs screamed. Getting up this morning my knees were OK and I could take the strapping off but my calf and thigh muscles were not happy – I walked as if I had a carrot stuck up my backside! Attractive! Mind you everyone else is the same and once we sat down on the camp stools to eat breakfast it was really difficult to get back up again.

Af Trails set off this morning (11 of them) in torrential rain so did feel sorry for them as we had great weather. Mind you it may be raining on the mountain.

So had breakfast and then lovely Lucky took my stinky – and I mean stinky- washing into town to get properly washed in a washing machine – oh the luxury! I did the rest by hand including my thermarest and day sack need to do my backpack but the enthusiasm level had seriously waned.

After washing Lucky was back from cookgroup shop so we headed to Limbe Wildlife Centre with Nancy and Chris. We got our passports certified on the way as it is compulsory to carry ID in Cameroon and we will lose our passports for a week in Yaounde when we get visas. It was really easy today taking about 30mins but apparently Lucky had a hell of a time yesterday and gave up!

So the Wildlife Centre is another run by Pandrillus (same as Afi Mountain in Nigeria) and has rescued or seized chimps, mountain gorillas, Mona Monkeys, Drill Monkeys, Mandrills and a few other species. They are all in huge cages/compounds and you can sit and watch the silverbacks (without paying the park entrance fee) as you have lunch in the café Chella's.

So we finally tracked down Am’s favourite restaurant which used to be Arne’s. Erika even remembered Am and others which is worrying – too many mango daiquiris’s I feel! I had the tomato, basil and cheese toastie and a fresh mango juice and it was awesome – real cheese which they get imported in to Douala and then have to go pick up especially- but sooooooo good!

After that we walked into town and bought some postcards, did some internet and checked out facebook and hotmail as it was that fast. Mum and dad’s house survived the bushfire in the Perth Hills so they are mighty relieved. Lucky picked up my beautifully clean washing – it smells so good – and then had the joyous task of repacking my locker. REALLY need to send some stuff home it’s getting kind of out of control now!

Now trying to update this never ending journal and waiting for cookgroup to announce dinner – Lucky, Sara and Becky have done sweet and sour chicken and then for pudding we’re going back to Chella’s for homemade vanilla icecream with chocolate sauce. (It was awesome- chocolate sauce with toffee bits and soooo rich, and I had another mango juice)
