So our family trip + 1 begins!! 20+ hours of flying to start it all off..w00t! The flight was not so special, lack of sleep, insufficient food and turbulence! nar, it was alright, Royal Brunei not too bad, save for the fact that we had to make 2 stop overs.  The first at Brunei with 3 hours of nothing to do.  The second in Dubai for a 40 minute security check?? What the hell??  But it was alright, Dubai London was all about the sleeping, and once we got there the frigid cold of London did alright to wake us all up XD.

Day one in London, not even a day actually cos we decided for some reason to leave for Paris that night XD...so away we go, make the most of London in under 12 hours.  That's one way to test your love for travelling after a full day of flying.  Met up first with some of Brian's friends, Gary and Aiyun, also our future hosts when we go back so best behaviour! =P  Nar these guys were really cool and took us around shopping and pretty much spent the whole day showing Brian and Sin Ki around.  I assume...haha Chun Kiu and I got bored after the first hour or so of shopping and decided we wanted to check out the Natural History and Science Museum more so back on the Piccadilly tube we got...Back to my old neighbourhood in South Kensington!  =D

The Natural History Museum is a definite must see, and like so many museums in Europe, the building itself is a sight in itself!  Old English brickwork at its best, the grand hall at the entrance is just the start.  We started at the not so impressive mineral section though the vault at the back is worth walking to (think shiny).  Also, while not breathtaking, we wandered into this small exhibit at the back with so many ground breaking finds, the fossil of archaeopteryx, bones of Neanderthals and a 1st edition copy of the Origin of Species‼  Of course the blue whale is another must see, though the fact that it's crammed with so many animals kinda detracts from its size I think.  My opinion anyway though the stuffed animals are also great…I didn’t realise how big some of them were!  Of course, no visit to the museum would be complete without a trip to see the dinosaurs!  I was hoping for more haha but looking back through the photos it was quite impressive, loved the iguanadon!  They of course had the required t-rex but skull only =( there was moving model of one but the freakiest things must’ve been the veloceraptor animatrons, just like Jurassic Park.

After 2 hours of rushing around we high tailed it to the Science Museum‼ w00t!  What another entrance hall!  Though I must admit the jet lag and hours of flying was starting to hit and even all the wonders of the Ford Model T, the Apollo 10 command module and wondrous material inventions couldn’t get through that dull grey cloud of tiredness.  I am glad we hunted that extra 5 minutes for the art display, a snap shot of the internet through a light and sound.  Among the phrases displayed "I like…I like it…I like cock…I like Dutch men…I like trannies…" haha not the only things displayed but they stuck for some reason XD  I always wondered what everyone else talked about online…now that I know, I’m not sure I wanted to know.
