So we finally organised a trip to the archipelago before the summer ended, not that the weather was very summer like but still...can't do anything about the weather gods now can we?  The islands were a fantastic sight though, the perfect summer getaway.  Spend your day sailing, swimming, have a barbeque laze around on the beaches, sauna....ah the life.  Not that I experienced any of this haha but one can imagine =P.  The houses around were so nice too from big seaside villas with a boatshed, sauna and gazebos to small huts on an island barely bigger than my house.  But they were in such cool colours ah I wish the photos turned out better (or there was more sun =P).  Oh we saw seals!  Twice!  It was only their heads above the water but haha we were so excited.

To make things even better, as soon as we stepped off the ferry onto Grinda (the island we were travelling to) the sun came out!  Seems like the weather gods favoured us after all =P.  Anywho, Grinda was amazing, not so much for the people or the hamlet haha though that was cool too but for the scenery!  Don't even need to be an outdoors person to enjoy it.  Just green, sun and sea everywhere like from a postcard.  And the forests!  I love our gum trees (I miss them =(...) but it's so cool seeing a forest with all the European trees which are not dead/dying from lack of water haha.  Definitely thinking of a trip to the islands again in autumn to check out all the colours...I'll see how the weather holds up.  Unfortunately it was too cold to swim and all the canoes were hired out that day =(, that was something I was really looking forward to.  Ah wells, can't really complain....although...Food on the island was super expensive and the paths were super muddy or rocky (cool mountain biking maybe =P) and the sun wasn't out for a lot of the time and the water was cold and we didn't get time to check out the highest point and and and...XD

Nar nar, I kid, while all that was true =P the island was an awesome place to visit and I had lots of fun hiking around with all my new and very international friends =) All complaining about the food and the mud =P.  But seriously, it's the perfect place for a weekend away with your friends, sailing, swimming, hanging out, BBQ....ah if only I had the time...  The Stockholm people are right, definitely check out the archipelago if you get the chance in Stockholm, it's worth it!

PS: We were really lucky too with the weather, about 1 hr after we left it started pouring down and then, when I had to ride back from the harbour, it stopped again =D  Thank you Thor XD
