Iīm having a lot of fun, and I think grandma is too. Tomorrow we leave around 1pm for Santiago, where we are going to spend the night. Iīll upload some pictures of the moai when we get to Santiago. Iīll talk to you all later. Chloe
Hello once again from the remote island of Easter Island. Yesterday we had a morning tour, followed by a great pasta lunch. And then another tour that afternoon. We have found that it rains on the island, a lot! It rains at least once everyday. But before you know it the sun peaks out through the clouds. The weather changes about every 5 minutes. Anyways, last night we went to Matatoá, a cultural show. Umm...iīm not sure how to really describe this show. Letīs just say the cultural style of dress was a little revealing.....hahaha....more detail when I come back home. There was a lot of good music though. This morning we ventured up to Orango, its the highest volcano. It was raining, and so windy that the rain seemed to be raining sideways. We were 1,000 feet looking over the cliffs. Unfortunately we couldnīt see the volcano crater, because it was so foggy, and we were in the clouds. We might try to go up there tomorrow, if the weather is nice, before we get on our plane. We were soaked by the time we climbed back down and got into our bus. Grandma and I went to this little place near the shore for lunch. I had Rapa Nui Pollo, aka fancy chicken. It was really good. And now Iīm typing on a computer in a little Internet cafe. This place is really neat, and the things on this island are scarce, well other than rocks. Even hot water is hard to find.
