Its a beautiful day in Zagreb. My alarm clock the past couple of mornings have been the church bells near my room. They start at 0600am and ring every 1/4 for couple of hours. So this morning i was out the door by 0800am. As a result i was able to get quite a few pics today.

Zagreb is a great city. It is very centralized. Most of the historic sights are withing walking distance to each other, very compact. The majority of Zagreb lies at the base of the hills, the older section of town lies in the hills above. Unlike Prague there are lots of green space and trees in Zagreb. There is a park system almost shaped like a U downtown. It has lots of trees and grass. The botanical gardens are located within.

In my last entry i mentioned there was not much color. When the sun came out today it became more evident there is lots of muted color here. Its very understated. Zagreb is very clean. What you do see is lots of graffiti, its everywhere. On the other hand you dont see much litter. Even the ash trays are filled with chewed gum.

Enjoy the pics!

Chuck

PS I also put a few more pics in the last Cesky Krumlov entry. I would love to post all but it takes about 10-15 minutes per group of 5 pics. I will post the whole bunch when i return.

I'm getting ready to go home, so the visit to Zagreb was a nice way to end the day. So glad you're enjoying this venture, Chuck.
Love,
Barbara
