Hi everybody!
It's tulip season so we went for a drive in flower field country today. This is one of the first really beautiful spring days and lots of people were out admiring the fields. The children enjoyed running between the rows of flowers and playing with the petals that had fallen. We saw mostly tulips as well as a few hyacinths and daffodils. Many of the fields were past their prime, but others were absolutely gorgeous. The last one we happened upon was the most beautiful. It was composed of several huge fields with rows of different colored flowers.

To end the day we had dinner in the town of Noordwijk aan Zee, on a terrace overlooking the sea and watching the sunset. The beach at Noordwijk is beautifully long and wide, with deep dunes separating the water from the road and development. The restaurant where we ate was nestled in the dunes near the end of the beach. What a great day!

Enjoy the pictures!

missed the tulips by two weeks I guess!
Kelly in SF shared your pix with me. Really nice stuff! I was in Noordwijk on April 14th but that was way too early to see the blossoms. Next time I'll come closer to the end of April. I was sure that mid-April would reveal bountiful blossoming bulb fields, but I was wrong. Cheers, Chris in SF
