In exactly four weeks from today, I will be leaving Phoenix to begin the journey to Burundi. However, one of the major happenings between then and now is my brother Lowell's wedding, which will take place this weekend in California. I flew into Oakland this evening and then went on a public transportation adventure (pretty exciting for someone living in a city without an efficient system), consisting of rides on a bus, a train, and two more buses that took me into San Francisco to the apartment of Lowell's friends, Randy and Autumn Davis, who took me in for the night.

Although, this particular entry has nothing to do with Africa, obviously, I thought I'd include it and a few other short entries before I leave in order to get my blog up and running before I leave the country. Exploring San Francisco
I spent four months in the Bay Area and visited friends at other times too. I'll bet you loved it as much as I did! I was able to see the King Tut exhibit when it was there many years ago.
