I said goodbye to my friends, they've been so kind and looked after me so well while I've been in Wellington. They dropped me off at the airport early this morning for my flight to Auckland. Then I had a long 6 hour wait for my flight to Fiji.

I think I may have fallen head over heals in love with New Zealand. Defiantly a place I will return too one day, maybe for good! It's not too cultural different from home, the landscapes are epic and I'd certainly have a better quality of life down here, no doubt. Just need to devise a plan to earn some cash and buy myself a little plot of land in the mountains of the south island and live happily ever after. Of course I need to complete my travels plans first :o)

Landed in Fiji in the late afternoon. As soon as I exited the plane I was hit by the hot humid air of the tropics once again after 3 months away in the temperate climates of Oz and New Zealand. Jumped into a cab to my accommodation at the Bluewater lodge in Newtown, Nadi. A British guy and his Fijian wife own the hostel and are extremely helpful and nice, made me feel very welcome. It's obviously been raining real hard today in Nadi, the roads are flooded and dark storm clouds hover above. Fiji is heading into the rainy season and occasionally the odd cyclone can strike during the next few months, I hope not! Went out to a local bar for a beer this evening, a massive storm broke out with torrential rain which continued for most of the night. I'll keep my fingers crossed for some sun tomorrow on my first full day in Fiji.
