A short day today, only a 2.5 hour trek from Karanga camp to Barafu camp at 4700m. We arrived in camp at midday , had some lunch and went to bed for a few hours. When I woke up heavy snow started to fall and covered camp, I suppose it's better than rain. When the snow cleared two beautiful rainbows appeared in the glacial valley below camp.
 
It's the big day today, getting up at midnight for a summit attempt, hopefully should summit before the sun rises at 6.30am, fingers crossed for a clear view! The trail to the summit will be covered with snow after today's fall, should make things a little more interesting. I've packed my kit and I'm ready to go, basically putting as many layers on as possible to combat the cold. Hopefully my next diary entry will talk about a successful attempt!
