Today we Left Lake Taupo and headed for the Tongariro National park but before we got there we stopped of at this great vantage point where we had the most amazing Kodak moment of Lake Taupo the weather was amazing and the view was just sublime. After the picture opportunity we headed onto the national park, this is where mount Ruapehu, Mt Tongariro and Mt Ngauruhoe are, these are 3 volcano's that sit side by side and for all you lord of the rings fans Mt Ruapehu is actually Mt Doom. The picture of Mt Doom is actually taken from my balcony so it gives you an idea the kind of spectacular views that I had.
After we got settled in we all went for a walk to the Taranaki Falls the walk itself was a 2hour round trip but it was certainly well worth it as you can see by the pictures, during the walk we crossed many streams where the water was so pure and fresh to drink, it just kind of sums up NZ altogether such a clean place that even the thought of dropping litter anywhere makes you feel guilty.
Once back from the walk we just chilled out for a bit and I let people who had done their skydive that morning to have a look at them on my laptop and then from there we had booked ourselves into the restaurant for dinner because nobody could be bothered cooking, so had our food sat in the bar for a while and then headed to bed pretty early as tomorrow we head for Wellington which is a 7 hour drive and were leaving at 7am so another early start for us, to be honest I'm getting fed up with all these early starts looking forward to getting to Wellington to have a base for a bit and getting a little bit of normality back into my life then again normality probably isn't the word maybe it should be more of a routine back into my life.
