All non-Germans without 3 walking sticks each, please note: you will feel very out of place here. Luckily we were able to quiet our discomfort by partaking in a number of bottles of wine on our balcony overlooking the marina, but others may not be so lucky. Other than the invasion of the stick brigade and the oppressive heat and humidity, the walk between the Cinque Terre was very pleasant. Even more pleasant was the swim at the end at
Monterosso al Mare - absolutely freezing but extremely refreshing after 5 hours walking along the path in the heat. Equally as refreshing (but less cold I think) was the bottle of wine taken on the terrace later on that evening. It seems the weather shared our feelings on refreshment as the following day, it poured with rain constantly and we had to make do with lazing around, eating, drinking and watching moofies.
