Woke up this morning to pretty significant rainfall.  Had a pleasant breakfast in the hotel and a bit of a conversation with the owners, since there were hardly any people in the dining room.  We checked out and I loaded all of the luggage into the car.  We also had to take care of a toll that our car went through in Dublin.  When you go through a toll, you are given a number to call and you must provide credit card info in order to pay your toll.  That took a couple of minutes because you had to provide the data for your car.
We had a 2 hour drive ahead of us to Blarney Castle and we were hoping the rain would stop- and that it did!  The weather was clear by the time we got to Blarney Castle. There was a cute little town right outside the castle.  We first went to the castle to "kiss the blarney stone".  The castle wasn't really big, but it had some crazy, narrow, twisted stairs to the top.  There was a little bit of a line, but it went quick.  I did kiss the stone, but mom didn't because she didn't want to get on her back to have to do it.  We then went over to the Blarney House and walked the grounds.  For lunch, we ate a little Irish tavern in the town right outside the Castle.
Our next stop was the beautiful St Finbarre's Church in Cork.  I wanted mom to see some of the amazing European churches and this was great example.  At first, we thought it was closed because the doors didn't seem to be open.  There was a little cemetery outside the church we looked at and then saw some other tourists enter, so we followed.  It was very ornate inside and definitely worth a look.
Our next stop was the town of Kinsale, where we would be staying overnight.  This town was situated right beside the harbor which our hotel room overlooked.   We spent the evening strolling around the streets of the town and then grabbing a quick dinner.
