So here's what we did today!! Hot and sunny and super muggy!! had a late breakfast of toast & homemade mango jam, and fruit salad with yogurt and muesli that had fresh mangoes, watermelon, bananas and pineapple and fresh african coffee.  then we walked around the seaside, visited a museum, ate some grilled freshly caught fish at the fish market, watched the sunset at bar overlooking the beach and had some beer, then ate vegetable curry for dinner and walked home. can you tell i am sooo happy to be somewhere that the food is delicious. you can get fresh, yummy samosas everywhere, tons of vegetables and fruits, seafood EVERYWHERE, and everything is spicy and/or curry flavored. heaven!!!

zanzibar is the greatest place on earth. the beaches are beautiful, the food is delicious, there's seafood everywhere, everything smells good, the flowers are so colorful and pretty, it's hot 24/7, the water is everywhere, everybody is nice and you're far away from the rest of the world. Sigh. i don't care if we don't go anywhere else for the rest of the trip, because it's soooooo awesome here. we're in stone town right now which is the main city part, and in a day or so we will head out to the beaches to hopefully find one of those thatched huts to live in for a week or so and relax, relax, relax and eat coconuts.  also i managed to pick up a new used book in tel aviv (a suitable boy) that is like 1500 pages long so i have plenty o reading to do for the rest of our time here. YAHOO!!
