Sunday October 23, 2011

We left Prague around 11am and headed to Cesky Krumlov. We arrived around 2pm and had three hours of free time there. This is a small town so three hours was more than enough here. At this point most of us were all so tired we just wanted to go back to Linz and didn't know what to do for three hours in this tiny town on a Sunday.

However, the town was beautiful and ended up being a really nice visit. The girls and I got lunch at this restaurant we found. It was really good and the service was nice. I had a delicious lasagna dish. After lunch we walked around for a while taking pictures. The town had a really pretty bridge going over the river, a "town square" which had nothing there, and cute little corner shops. We then decided to get some dessert, of course, at this creperie. They were serving these traditional desserts of the town that were like a hollow cinnamon roll and you could get different stuff spread on the inside. I didn't have one because I was really craving a crepe, but the other girls tried them with chocolate on the inside and they loved it. It was a family business I believe and none of them could speak any English, but they were very friendly.

After that we had to head back to the bus to meet the rest of the group for the tour of the Eggenberg Brewery. It was really neat! After the tour we were taken back to the restaurant and we got two free drinks and then the rest was on us. I had Gluhwein (hot wine) which was really good. We were all still full from our late lunch so we didn't eat anything, except some small little apple dessert to go with our hot wine. We were all so tired and just wanted to leave. We finally ended up heading back to Linz around 8:30pm, and I slept most of the way back on the bus.
