Friday afternoon we took a train from Regensburg to Nuremberg in the afternoon. We grabbed a quick lunch of some pizza in the train station before we left. We had two connections which were both only 4 minutes, but luckily we made both with no problems! It was just a hassle lugging our suitcases to and from each train.

As soon as we got to Nuremberg we went straight to our hostel to check in again. It was also close to the train station and we could easily walk there. This time we got a 4-person room so we could all be together. We had to wait around for a little bit though because our room wasn't ready. But as soon as it was we dropped our stuff off and headed out to explore because we wouldn't have any time the next day.

Supposedly the hostel we stayed at offered free guided tours of the city, but we waited at the meeting spot and no one was there, so we just did our own tour. We went to the city square and saw the cathedral and fountain, and then we went into the souvenir shops. After that we went up towards the wall that surrounded the city. I don't know anything about this wall (I should look it up), but there's a wall that goes around the whole town. There were a lot of old time looking Bavarian houses that were really neat. We also found another wishing well! Then we continued up to the castle at the top of the city.

There was a really pretty courtyard at the top, and it provided a great view of the whole town. Again, we took a lot of pictures :). After we wandered around for a while we went back down into the city and found the popular bridge of the town, looked around in a few shops, bought some delicious German chocolate (I think we buy chocolate everywhere we go), and then decided to get some dinner. I and most of the other girls are pretty tired of schnitzel so we looked for something different. We found this Irish restaurant and pub we decided to try. Best decision ever!! It was SO good! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the atmosphere was great! There were Irish people eating there so if the natives eat it then you know it's good. But the place looked so "Irish". It was all stone and the lighting was a little dark with Irish music playing. I don't really know how to explain it, but it reminded me of what I think a real restaurant/pub in Ireland would be like, and made me excited to go to Ireland! Plus the accents in there were to die for :) Anyways, I had a Cajun Chicken Cesar salad and it was great.

After dinner we were full, but of course had to get dessert. It was freezing but we got gelato anyway. Also very good! We walked around with our gelato for a while and found another old cathedral but since it was dark none of us could get a good picture, not even with my camera.

We were all getting tired again by this point and decided to go back to the hostel. We didn't go right to sleep though. We talked for a while mostly talked about home and compared differences between places. It's crazy how different life in Missouri is from Tennessee (Megan) and New Mexico (Hollie), and obviously Mexico (Elda). Hollie and Elda actually had a lot of things in common being so close, and Megan and I also had some similarities. I know I just contradicted myself by saying we were so different, yet so similar. After chatting we went to bed, but I didn't fall asleep for a couple hours. I'm not sure why because I was really tired. I think I started thinking about other trips coming up and was trying to plan in my head, budget, etc., and couldn't make my head shut-up. I probably fell asleep around 1 or 2am.

The next morning we left bright and early for our next destination- Rothenburg.
