We arrived in Hoi An in good time a hour earlier than expected which was good & we had a hotel shuttle waiting for us. The hotel wasn't far away & we saw a few faces from Hanoi there too! It had a small pool area with lounger around so we just settled there for the afternoon. That evening we went into the town which was quite a walk! The streets were lined with shops mainly suit & dress makers. The town was divided by a small river in the middle & it had a bit of a mediterranean/ european feel to it. There was a few restaurants & bars around the river & there was locals on long boats offering a ride or to put a floating candle into the water!
The next day we wanted to go to the beach which you needed a push bike or moped to get to! We opted to the moped at $4! Before we headed there we needed to book our bus for our next stop. We were shown where the ticket office was & after going round in circles for a bit we found it! However there was a sign that the man pointed to when i approached that said "we no longer book open bus tickets due to the company not paying their dept for 3 months" This panicked us a bit but the hotel showed us another company that did book the bus for us!
The beach was really nice, it was a long stretch & was a bit similar to Bali with people surfing.
The one attraction in Hoi An was the Japanese Bridge. We thought we had found this however we later realised it wasn't the right one!! We drove around the town a bit further out but as the night markets were beginning to open all the roads weregetting closed off so we headed back to sort our arrangements for Nha Trang.
