As each day passes I am doing a little better. It hurts like hell not being able to hug and kiss my wife, to lay next to her in bed, to pick up my kids or give them hugs. Other than the heartache of missing family I am doing and feeling well. I tried sushi for the first time the other night and it was ok. I actually liked the raw tuna and rice, but the seaweed it was wrapped in almost made me gag. Wow, the smells are different here. The weather is soooo beautiful! It has been mid 80's and breezy everyday. I love it. Yesterday, (Sat. March 8) Derek and I went to the Great Mall of Asia that sits at Manila Bay. It has beautiful architecture and is simply hugongulous. I watched the sunset over Manila Bay and then the fireworks that followed shortly after. They have a display every Friday and Saturday night after sunset over the Bay. I wish Kim and the kids could be here with me to see it all. :(
People here are mostly very friendly. They really like Americans and hold us in very high regard. I get called Sir Chris a lot or even Boss Chris..LoL. That feels weird. There are armed guards everywhere and you usually get frisked before entery a store. They take a pretty proactive approach to crime here which makes it feel very safe.
Well, that is all for now. The photos you will see in this entry are of the mall and Manila Bay as well as various other photos since I have been here. Love you all. God bless.
