Not what I wanted to get done but here is some info and some pics.  Sorry!

CMB finally back to the computer after a long hiatus and having Makely carry the blogging load for a bit.  We are now in Bangkok and desperate to catch up to our current location.

Xi'an Xi'an.... great town.  Nothing overly special about the city itself but both Makely and I found ourselves liking this city.  I think part of the reason maybe have been that we didn't have too many big sights that we thought we had to see so we did a lot of relaxing and wondering of the city to soak it up and basically eat a bunch of Muslim Chinese food.... all different and really good.  Now for some details....

So we left the Beijing a little sad as we had become quite good friends with the coolest girls in Beijing at the Gulou hostel.  We left that night to try out our first train in China, an overnighter to boot.  We get to the train station a bit early since we weren't sure what we were in for and good thing as I think 1/3 of China are on the trains at any given time.  The place was a zoo... people every where, eating, sleeping, stacked on top of each other... crazy full.  We bought a few snacks and drinks for the road and jumped on board.  Found our car easy enough and then our bunk.  We were forced to buy a "soft sleeper" since that was the only bed available when we booked our ticket.  Basically, the soft sleeper as opposed to the hard sleeper means you get you own room with a door and 4 beds in it while the hard sleeper is a compartment with 6 beds and no door or just open the train car.  Not too bad... the soft was $~55USD for a 12 hour train ride.

Train ride was cool for the experience but not so good for the sleep.  Lights were out at 10pm but you had your own light at your bed but Makely and I finished off some dumplings, settled in and tried to get some sleep while listening to some tunes.  Woke up a bit groggy and starving but close to Xi'an.  Needed to brush my teeth and shower like you can't even imagine.  We decided to head to the bar car for some food and drinks and played some cards while watching the landscape pass by for the final few hours.  Pretty cool.

Finally get to Xi'an and lug our packs onto our broken backs from the sleeper... why didn't I do this when I was 22?  We head out to try to find our pre-booked hostel... we are getting smarter.  We end up haggling with some taxi drivers to drive us the the address who all want to charge whitey what seems like way too much for a cab.  We end up just going with this tuk tuk driver that had been following us since the train station when she says she will take us for ~$3USD.
