I arrive late at Tom and Janet's in the lovely village of Woodbridge, Suffolk, but it isn't a problem, they are very distracted because they have not finished packing and long after I go to bed they are still busy, nightmare!

I stay in their lovely cabin in the garden (I kid you not!), its Janet's studio (freelance journalist). Alarm set for 5am. Tally ho!

We make it onto the boat in the morning and have the usual boring trip over the channel, except for the chat I have with the skipper of Arthur Ransome's (Swallows and Amazons) yacht the Nancy Blackett. He was meeting some people for a trip around the Netherlands. It sounded great, maybe I will do that next year?

Stayed the first night in a campsite close to Antwerp. 'Sint Job In't Goor', was the name of the village, almost yorkshire that! I cook fish stew for us all. Tom and Janet get all their camping toys out of the van, just in time for the rain. Pity they hadn't unpacked the awning first! Its freezing, I even put my heater on! Lets put it this way. If someone had said, "shall we go camping this weekend", I'd have said, "Nah, lets wait for better weather"!

Things I wish I had brought, Sat Nav, Guide to European campsites.!
