Jet lagged beyond belief but determined to get straight into the current time zone, we headed straight for the pool area here at Case Roja Hostel in Santiago. This place is pumping, full of young travellers (correct we are the oldest by a good ten years), a crazy pub that continues until 6am (of which we had the pleasure of experiencing last night, along with the owner and his free tequila shots) and an on site travel agent for any Chilean adventures we wish to partake in.

We have already met plenty of great peeps and made friends from all over the globe, including a couple of guys from Buenos Aires who we've planned to hook up with when we get there. Yesterday we sat with the travel agent and the below is a little something of our itinerary for the next month and a half or so...

Tomorrow we head to Mendoza, Argentina, on an overnight bus, for the wine festival that is currently being held there. A few days of wine festivities, hooking up with a few Irish lads we met and then back to Santiago for a night.

We then embark on what sounds like an incredible journey south...visiting ancient villages of Indians and Incas, forests, lakes, beaches, hot springs, volcanoes - you name it. It's a seven day tour but we are going to take about 20 days to do it and return to Santiago as along the way we will hop off the bus and head into Bariloche (Argentina) for a few nights, Calafate (Argentina) also for a couple of nights and then fly to Torres del Pain and make our way into Patagonia....yeah baby, so fricking exciting

Sometime around end of March we are back in Santiago for a couple of night and then head north to the ATACAMA Desert. This is a ten day tour but again we will take a little longer as at seem stage we hop off and cross the border into Bolovia where we will do a three day 4x4 trek to the salt pans and up into La Paz.

Then it's back down to Santiago and we fly out sometime mid April to Buenos Aires...where we will then take a look at what's next...maybe Brazil, maybe a bit of the Amazon, maybe a little Argentine Tango...shame it's a tough life but someone's gotta do it heheh!

Watch this space for updates on the above adventures, am sure there will be plenty to blog about and we will, as and when we can, update as much as we can.

For now, the pool is calling, a cold beer is awaiting us and a few friends are twisting our rubber arms to join them at tonight's pub crawl through the best spots in Santiago...take care of you and we will take care of each other...
