We have been in Melbourne for 7 days now and have another 9 to go. We've just about seen you all once already and will see you again loads. This time is not about seeing Melbourne, it's about a whole lotta love, memory reminiscing and making.
At arrivals, Avalon Melbourne Airport, people didn't know what was going on or where to look. In amongst the tears and screaming Chris was finally introduced to the friend whose been through it all with me: slept in train stations, travelled Europe on €6/day, lived in a bus, hung out on a farm sanding and painting a house, selling our clothes in Galway to get our next meal, been serenaded on the Spanish steps, you name it we've done it Emma-Jane Collins and I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see you again and meet your man and your beautiful little girl.
We are being housed and looked after superbly in my uncle/godfathers abode and it's been incredibly special catching up with him. Dudley was probably the closest person to my papa and he has been telling us all about what dad was like which is brilliant for not only me but also Chris who in a sense is "getting to know him". Dudley has taken us to see the Dandelongs and for tea at Mrs Marples Tea House and is making us feel totally at home - careful Duds or we may stay ;-)
Our friend Leigh whom we met in Bali took us out yesterday to the Mornington Peninsula, whose beaches, apart from no palm trees, is just like and as beautiful as the Seychelles. We had a stunning day with Leigh and met up with another friend from Bali, Pamela, for a drink after our day out, which was just marvellous. We will catch up with the rest of our Bali crew next week again.
Chris is, as I type, having a boys night out with the legendary Kyle Black, whom we also caught up with, along with Libby Hughes, at a wicked and "comedy of errors" braai/barbecue last Sunday. Will be spending plenty more time with them in the next week or so too.
It's Australia Day this Saturday and I've no doubt a blog moment or two, as I've come to call them will occur. I'm in a constant state of excitement at the moment and have a funny feeling it ain't going to end for a while...until the next time peeps, k
