Rather than drive to Page right after exiting the canyon, we elected to grab a hotel on the South Rim. We had dinner, showered, and hit the sack.  We woke up at a reasonable hour for once and headed for Page, Arizona.  Page sits just south of the Utah border and is a great base for many activities in Northern Arizona / Southern Utah.  We stopped just outside of Page to see the Horseshoe Bend Overlook.  We thought it was a few hundred yards off of the highway, but it ended up being a 2 mile round trip hike through loose sand.  We thought it would be good to stretch our sore legs a bit, so we did it. The view is of the Colorado River as it makes a large sweeping turn in the shape of a horseshoe, and was quite impressive.  After the Grand Canyon, you would think everything looks small and insignificant, but we found that the area is full of truly unique landscapes to rival the canyon.  After the return trek, we continued into Page.  Although we didn't get a real close look, it was clear that Lake Powell is a destination all its own.
