Then finally, the reason we are here, the wedding. What a great place to tie the knot. 50 guests on the beach with the surf pounding the shore in the background. The reception was at the Palapita, which was a round glassed in palapa overlooking the ocean. What a great atmosphere!
When I started planning this trip, I was looking at Google Earth with my friend who was in Cabo last year. He was showing me where my hotel was in relation to "El Arco" and Lover's Beach. He was telling me that you can take a water taxi to Lover's Beach, and I asked if you could just scamper over the rocks that blocked the way from my beach? He said, no way, only by boat. Assuming my friend was providing me good information, I was floored when another member of our group successfully traversed the rocks and lived to tell about it. I had to give this a try. So I strapped on the Keens and made the trek down the beach. Upon seeing the rocks that blocked the way, I knew why my friend had said that this method was not an option. But, being the adventurous guy I am, I figured I'd give it a try anyway. It wasn't so bad. I would recommend it to anyone with any kind of hiking experience. Once you got into the rocks, it was like being on a different planet. The rock formations just look like nothing I have ever seen. Once on the other side it opens up to a beautiful beach. This beach has water on both sides and if you go early, you have it basically to yourself. This was one of the coolest treks I have ever made.
