Ok so we thought yesterday was cold but today it actually is freezing as in zero degrees Celsius.

Bundled up and speed walking down the river walk we arrived at the Alamo. After a short movie, shrine visit and strolling through a small museum & gift shop we made our way back into the freezing cold in search of food and a place to thaw out.

Over some spicy hot wings I contemplated why we should "Remember the Alamo". I guess it is a testament to never giving up on what you believe in no matter what the risk or cost (even if that means complete and utter unavoidable slaughter) Well I guess the important thing is that Texas eventually got their independence --- until they joined the U.S. that is (if only to avoid the Brits).

Yesterday we had gone north on the River and today we did more of the south checking out the varying neighborhoods as we walked along. We stopped a few times there and back to warm up but really it just made us feel even colder once we got back outside. (Blue Star Brewpub / Mariachi Bar at Market Square)

Did I mention they play non-stop salsa music in our elevator at the hotel? Well they do, so we shimmied upstairs and called it a night....a cold cold night.
