Key Largo had been a nice surprise, kind of wish we had spent more time there but we had already planned to make our way north.

But before we make our way to the Everglades and the Gulf coast - today will be a day full o' family. We first stopped off in Miami for another visit with my Uncle. This time he drove us to lunch in his mini van. I was slightly worried he might crash the car considering all the vision problems he has mentioned but we made it there and back safe and sound. After a tasty lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse we hung out at the house for a while, just long enough for Chris to break one of my Uncles snow globes splashing water and glass all over the place...oops. Worst guests ever. Said our farewells and were on our way towards Ft. Lauderdale.

We met up with my cousin Sean for some dinner at a Thai place (his favorite Thai place was closed on Monday but this one was pretty good I have to say) Sean is my only cousin that is my age...unless there are some others I don't know about, which is very possible since I didn't meet him until I was about 19. (Another strange family fallout years and years ago but then our Mom's reconnected at some point and became close again as they had been growing up in San Francisco) Listening to Sean's description of his intense work schedule and competitive residency interviews confirmed my desire to continue to not work that hard. Hopefully I can mooch some free medical advice from him in the future. He did tell us that diet, sleep & exercise are the best bets to stay healthy...I am good at sleeping so maybe I'll start there and work on the other two later.
