Crazy thunderstorm woke us up last night at 3am. I have never heard thunder and seen lightening like it. And what better place to be than curled up in a tent right under a big old tree for the storm of your life. At least it stopped raining in time for us to pack up our rain soaked tent at 9am in the morning. I'm not going to lie i will be pleased to say farewell to the Great Smokey Mountains today, three days without a shower for me and Les really has made the tent smell rather ripe.

Marc and Louise got an hour head start on us (They pack up quicker than us) as we set out on our 225 mile drive west to Nashville, where we would once again be in the central time zone so at least we would be gaining an hour today.

Arrived at our campsite "Jellystone Park" (Hey hey boo boo), to find M and L with tent already up and ready to go. We quickly set up our tent, did some laundry and after three long days finally got that shower. Wow it felt soooo good to be clean again.

We had a late lunch at Marc and Louise's favorite American restaurant "Hooters" and then strolled "Broadway" where all the country music bars are located. I never seen anything like it before, with bar after bar having live musicians playing country music. We popped into one bar "Whiskey Bent" which was empty apart from the bar maid and the guy on stage strumming his guitar.  He immediately asked us if we had any requests. I asked for a Queen or Elton John number, which was greeted with possibly one of the dirtiest looks i have ever received. "Don't you know any Country songs" the guy on the stage asked. Leslie who is our country music expert in the group, was all of a sudden very quiet. This guy was not going to rest until we requested a song, so thinking on my feet and quickly racking my brain for the name of a country singer I called out "Garth Crooks". Silence in the room. Leslie nudges me and says Garth Brooks. I was close, but the old brain had let me down again. If only the question had been can someone here please name a Jamaican Tottenham player from the mid 80's, then my answer of Garth Crooks would have been right on the money. As it was the musician and the one drunk bloke at the bar (where the hell did he suddenly appear from i thought) seemed less than impressed with my knowledge of country music. The musician then proceeded to play a song i had never heard before by Garth Brooks.

We walked the rest of the street and then headed over to the "Grand Ole Opry" hotel. Marc and Louise have been to Nashville before and would be heading out tomorrow, while me and Les have decided to hang around an extra day to give these bars a proper review.

The hotel is massive and reminded me a lot of a Vegas hotel, with everything you could ever want in it. You could stay there a week and eat at a different restaurant every night.

Finally there was time for the Sachs to give us another beating at crazy golf. We are now 2-0 down and Les really needs to raise her game. I can't keep carrying the both of us :)
