We had a great time in Murfreesboro, visiting with Jeff, Shannon, Ashleigh, Amber, Autumn and Austin (the "A" team)

So much fun to spend some relaxing time with them as we have a lot of history.  Before we had kids Jeff and Shannon lived with us throught the birth of their first two.

It was like old times, the kids all playing and us getting a great chance to catch up.  The weather was really warm and humid and we spent a fair bit of time hiding from it inside.

The kids enjoyed a bout of skating with the biggest kid Chris and he also managed a major shopping spree for some clothes at US prices that he packed up and posted home.  At least one of us will have something to put in the wardrobe when we get home

We also spent some time sorting out our van and leaving it in Jeff's hands to see if he could sell it for us as we were flying on to Europe next.

Shannon took each of the girls shopping and bought them some clothes as she saw that their own mother completely neglected them in this respect.

We said a quick goodbye at the airport in Nashville, not wanted to make it too long as we felt pretty sad to say goodbye again, but are excited at the prospect of a visit from them next year.

Then it was the long trip to Paris.  At Nashville airport, all of us except Samantha were marked as higher risk for some reason (we were flying on September 9 so we assume security was higher being so close to September 11 and we were not US residents).  We all had to wait in a glass box while we were frisked by customs officers.  Samantha was very disappointed as she felt left out!

Luckily we passed the inspection and boarded our flight to Washington DC and then on to Paris, France and eventually on to our next destination in Cork, Ireland.

What a trip!
Hello from Simi Valley. We are so impresed by your variety of travels ( and the incredible planning that went in to it)! More impressive still is what a world of friends you have established. A very lucky--and wise--family you are. We think of you often and often wish we were you.11 weeks doesn't sound so far off now until you return to your homeland. We send you all of our best wishes and have a great rest of the trip.
Love, Diane, Rick, Matt and Claire Webb
