A late start out of
Sebree took us a hilly 25 miles east to
Utica, Kentucky. We were fortunately invited to join Merrill and his neice and her boyfriend, Leah and Chris, for a great lunch. They drove up from Tennessee and indulged us with some good ol' Tennessee bbq and beer. We started with some cold, cold watermelon (we've been talking about watermelon for weeks). The conversation we all shared was great. Leah and Chris are amazing people! Hopefully we can take them up on their offer to show us around Nashville in the future. We were so happy Merrill was able to enjoy some time with family; such a luxury on a trip like this. After they left, we all wined down to rest for our early start tomorrow. Thanks to the
Utica Fire Dept. for opening their doors to us and all cyclists that pass through.
