Another difficult day in central France bad weather and impossible traffic caused untold misery to this two "mature hippies". We eventually found respite at about 8.30pm way out in the wilds, a very nice Chambers'd’hôte in rural France, miles from anywhere. We eventually climbed into bed at about 9.30. Tired, supper- less, but safe and comfortable!!!
Tuesday 17th Fanjeaux, France to Ainsa, Spain.349K
Another fantastic journey through the French and Spanish Pyrenees mountains using the 3k long Bielsa-Aragnouet Tunnel. Unimaginable scenery all he way, hope the photos do justice to the journey. Because we usually travel by small roads we also arrived unexpectedly at Le Mas d Azul on the D119 (France) This is a spectacular natural cave that now has a two lane road running alongside the river that formed the tunnel centuries ago, unexpected and beautiful.
We found a reasonable Hotel in AINSA which has an old city similar to Guardalest but much, much bigger. The Town is surrounded by National Parks so we intend to explore some of them tomorrow.
