Where I stayed
Katie´s Home in Ohmbach
We went on a nice hike around the little villages to the tower, looking forward to a historic monument. What we found was a newly renovated, repunzel esc tower for, you guessed it, tourists. Suckers. But it was a really nice view of the town, rolling hills, wind turbines, and blooming cherry trees. We hiked into the next town and had a german pastry, since no one serves lunch at 14:00. They were like the german men, according to Katie. They look good on the outside, but have no sugar. We proceeded to have three beers in the afternoon sun, took a nap, and had to prepare for the evening ahead of us. What did we do in a small German town you ask? We went to an irish pub on an American Air Force Base. For Kareoke. Sweet. Caitlin´s rendition of I kissed a girl was a hit. Chris brought it back old school, boys II men. Then we went to a German Club, or should we say three. Techno room, Hip hop room, and room that played obscure american one hit wonders. Leather and plastic outfits everywhere. We were ready to go at 4am, but no one else in the club showed any interest in leaving. Apparently ze germans do not sleep. It was a fun experience, and our host Katie and her friend Tracy were the most entertaining tour guides we´ve had thus far.
