Where I stayed
We had the most amazing day today. Started off in Deadwood, SD and went to the Mt. Moriah Cemetary. Wild Bill, Calamity Jane, Seth Bullock and a wide array of people were buried there. Plus, the cemetary has a great overlook of the town of Deadwood.
Next, we traveled to the Black Hills and spent the entire day there. We did Needles Highway, Wilderness Loop and Custer State Park. We spent time at Mt. Rushmore and walked the loop around the monument. AWESOME AMERICA!!
Wildlife sightings as of today: chipmunks, prairie dogs, deer, prong horn antelopes, bison and buffalo. The bison and the buffalo were at the end of the day, and we had all but, given up hope of even seeing them when we came upon them just as we were headed into Custer, SD. We even saw a bison right by the side of the road in the early evening. Also, a herd walked through a camp ground while we were watching them. I bet the campers were quite surprised!
I love the good old USA. There's still lots to see and more days to go. Headed to bed! Good night, Facebook Buddies!
P.S. It takes too long to upload pictures from my camera. I'll do that when I get home. I am posting a few that I've taken with my camera. Great shots in the camera:) Can't wait to share them with all of you.
P.S.S. Have I told you how much I love traveling with my Aunt Judy and Uncle Bill. Bill has so much knowledge about nature and a good deal of other things. We are having a blast!
