November 7, 2009
6:45 AM Woke up hours before the alarm...again
7:00 Checked email
8:00 AM GYM ( knew I'd make it at least once on this trip)
9:00 Breakfast buffet and a beautiful plate full of fruit and some dim sum dumplings for good measure ( it is Hong Kong, afterall)
9:45-10:45 Walk around the convention center and harbour area near hotel
11:00 Attempted to dry hair with hotel provided blow dryer
12:00 Met Merage student Mirella who is studying abroad in HK this quarter
12:30-1:30 Splurged on a dining experience at the 2 Michelin starred Caprice, the French restaurant at the Four Seasons.
Appetizers:  Duck fois gras for Mirella, Pumpkin veloute for me
Main meal:  Sea bass for Mirella, Duck for me
Dessert: A shared assortment of pastries including a blueberry and vanilla napoleon and a passion fruit cookie followed by a sampling of petit fours.
(This place was far too fancy for photos of the food so you'll have to rely on your imagination)
2:00 PM Checked out of the hotel and met Nitasha, another current student studying abroad.
2:15-2:45 Schleped my luggage through the convention center only to discover that our event was actually at the exhibition center. So glad that it was 80 degrees and humid today.  Dragged the suitcase up a few flights of stairs and across a few foot bridges-in a suit.  A big thank you to Mirella and Nitasha for their help and patience.
3:00-5:50 World MBA Fair.  Talked to some good candidates and caught up with Nitasha and Mirella who are absolutely loving their time in Hong Kong.
6:00 PM. Attempted to hail a cab to the Hong Kong train station to catch the Airport Express
Was refused service by no less than four taxis.  Nitasha finally instructed me to get in to the cab and then tell the driver where I wanted to go. Seems no one wanted to take such a cheap fare as the train station was just five minutes away.
6:30 Checked in for my flight at the train station. Very cool, and some other cities could learn from HK.  Incredibly efficient.
7:30 Back at the airport with time to spare
9:00 PM  Dragonair Flight 870 bound for Shanghai

Total time in Hong Kong:  23 hours
