We have spent the day cruising Glacier Bay--I am afraid my vocabulary isn't broad enough to describe the beauty of this experience. The day started out foggy, but then we were blessed with better weather and actually had some sunshine.
We got to see many glaciers and sat beside a huge one--the Margorie glacier for quite a long while. It is a beautiful aquamarine color. It "calved" several huge pieces while we watched. Spectacular!
We also saw whales spouting and frolicking in the water, as well as sea otters and seals.
Someone spotted puffins, but I didn't see them.
I recommend that you bring your winter coat when you come--it is really cold! David says you don't need a winter coat, but then when did we ever agree on anything :-)
Tomorrow we go ashore at Ketchikan and have a zipline adventure.
