Where I stayed
We awoke to a cold, rainy day in Denali again. Most everyone's plans to take helicopter or airplane rides or go riverrafting were cancelled. Our plans to be lazy were right on target.
Holland America's plans to have us take the train to Fairbanks at 4 p.m. were changed, too! The river (I don't remember which one) is 15 feet above normal and has flooded the railroad tracks. In fact, it is just one foot below the big flood of 1967 that happened in Fairbanks! So, we were all loaded onto buses. This has been costly for HA because everyone was given a $30 rebate voucher, and everyone promptly spent it in the HA hotel restaurant we are staying at tonight :-)
So, today has been kind of an off day. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better because there are lots of plans, but they are not so dependent on the weather.

Doesn't it feel great to be right!
Once again, you made the right choice to be lazy, while everyone else was regretting not getting to do their activity of choice. Too bad about the high river but I guess that is the price of traveling. Nothing is ever for sure.
