I spent New Years in Picton this year. I was going to catch a ride to Nelson and meet up with friends from Blenheim but I got very sick 5 days before leaving me on the toilet and the couch all week long. It turned out to be quite peaceful which is the complete opposite of all the new years I have had before. It was nice to just sit on the beach sober and watch the fireworks next to the "blue moon" with some friends I have made here.
