Hello one more time from French soil!
We are making our way toward Paris to catch the flight tomorrow. This will be our last entry.
Have had a fun time in the Picardy region.
Our second full day we visited several towns on the way to the Benedictine Palace in Fecamp. Eu was our first stop. Found a chateau there that Prince Phillipe lived in. Had amazing wood floors with several types of wood.... including ebony. The catherdral there was in bad condition....like many in France. Stopped then in Le Treport to view the white chalky cliffs much like the ones in Dover, England. (they are right across the English Channel)
We did have an issue with finding gas along the way. But we found some very helpful Frenchmen who directed us to the one place in town that had gas.
Arrived in Fecamp just in time to visit the Benedictine Palace. It is the only place that real authentic Benedictine is made. We have included a photo of many counterfeit benedictines (the pyramid). Was a great day!
Went to Saint Vallery yesterday and trekked around the medieval town and the seaside. It was COLLLLDDDD! We then ventured to the other side of the bay and visited La Cotoy and watched the wind surfers riding the waves. Freezing while they did it.
Today we are just meandering our way to Meaux to stay the night and fly tomorrow.
A few more photos for your viewing. See you all soon!
Thanks for your prayers while traveling.
Love,
Rich and Kara
