As you know I always carry around a small note pad - It’s the best way to remember the small things you always forget.
For this entry there was several things I needed to do when I arrived in Australia. When failing to do them straight away because I was distracted meeting up with Nikki, I set out to complete my goals and be settled in Australia
“Australia - Things I need to do
Flights
- Go to flightcentre
- Tickets to Thai/Indo
- Enquire about ticket changes for home
- Visit other websites
- Ask when it’s cheapest to go
Job
- Enquire about new job
- Go to visafirst ask about hospitality course
- Ask about job list/house list
Internet
- Complete questionaire for rgs
- Activate phone
Buy
- Shampoo/soap
- Toothpaste
- Eggs “
That was my list written word for word (correcting some spelling mistakes) about what I initially needed to do in Australia
As a break down -
Flights
I was planning to leave Australia before I even arrived. I wanted to go to flightcentre and simply ask how much flights were to Thailand or Indonesia. I managed to get a return flight to Bangkok for $911 dollars with Emerittes, which is incredible so I took it a couple of days later after some thought.
I also re-arranged my return flight from Sydney to England from May 5th to July 28th.
I wanted to check other websites other than flightcentre about prices (but in the end I never did)
Job
I was still planning on getting a job, or at least work out how to get one and see how easy it was to do it. Visafirst said that they’d give me a job list and house list on arrival but what it turned out to be was a scrap book of numbers to call and I couldn’t take it away with me. So I thought to myself “fuck that” and never read any of them.
Internet
I had to complete a questionnaire I had forgotten to do from June sometime last year. An honest mistake, but I hadn’t completed it, so it was an absolute priority.
Buy
I had to buy shampoo because I’d left my stuff in the bathroom (which I’d recently bought in Kumning to save money) I just wasn’t used to not having my own bathroom or my own room. Sharing sucks in Australia because everyone steals your stuff.
Toothpaste - Don’t have any specific memory on this, probably just needed the stuff.
Eggs - never actually bought them in the end, but they’re an excellent source of protein!
