Have been in Australia for a few days now, and so far it has been very nice.
However I still feel like I was unfinished in China, and I could have spent lots more time there for sure. I miss China, and to put it simply I feel like going back.
Since being in Australia I have discovered how expensive things are in the west, and on the current rate of spending I think that I will need to start working within the month or some time in the next.. the kind of money would let me live like a king in the East. Should I go back to the land of the interesting and the cheap?
Not to say that Australia isn’t interesting, and the people here seem very friendly. I have met lots and lots of English people that are Ok, but not really my kind of people and some are not willing to talk to you unless you talk to them. This is pissing me off.
I have decided to make pros and cons of staying in Australia for you and me to reflect on. Any opinions would be great!
- Lots of interesting sights
- Unique wildlife
- Western food
- Hot, maybe too hot?
- Australians seem friendly
- Will have to start working soon
- English and other backpackers are not the people i would normally be friends with
- Nothing is a challenge anymore
- Backpacking is easy here and not adventurous
- Half the wildlife can kill you
- Not learning a new language
I’m trying to to be too pessimistic, and I’m very interested in doing harvest work where there will be free accommodation and food. I will also make close friends there and get a great work out so I will be ripped for when i get back. Today I spent a lot of time sorting things out, like a course on how to serve alcohol and I even re-scheduled my flight for a later 3 months till July 28th. This is instead of me coming home early sometime in May. Not sure if this was the greatest move, but now I feel more forced to stay away from England for longer and keep travelling.
