What I did
My Fridays are pretty good.
I start at 2.20 so i have a very late start. However, i don’t really like to waste my extra time off sleeping so i normally try to wake up no later than 9 o’clock. This leaves me a few hours to do what i want. Most of the time i just go on the internet and watch internet movies and such, time well spent.
Every lunch i go to Ke Ke’s flat to eat dinner. Lunch is between 12.05 and 2.20 so it is a generous break between lesson times, and on Fridays it means i start very late.
Today has been a fairly average Friday so far. 9 o’clock wake, watched a few episodes of Mighty Boosh. Finished uploading the rest of the pictures on the website and also completed the front page of the website. What do you think about clicking on the countries?
After wasting my morning (looking back on it) i got my usual text from Ke Ke inviting me down to her apartment. Today i am particularly lazy because this is when i get Ke Ke to buy my lunch for me. What else are girlfriends for? Had a little chill out, and then i went off to work.
My first lesson was good. I have been teaching music all week, so it is quite an exciting subject where i play them lots of music. This includes the introduction to Bob Marley, which they all hate. Infact, when i put it on they all laugh at him because they are all so racist. Bless ‘em.
The second lesson i teach are my least favourite class, they piss me off so much. Refusing to do what i asked them to do really annoyed me, and i even felt like making them get their homework out because they were not in the mood for learning anything off of me. Last lesson was ok, fairly average. They are the least intelligent class of the whole year, but i enjoy teaching their class for some reason.
Tonight Toby and I went out on the search for some speakers for our apartment. Since being in China i am ashamed to admit that i have stopped listening to music so much. I am out of the loop now that i don’t have my friends as a resource for good music, and my ipod has just about died resulting in me listening to less music. Bit of a shame. However, we set off and returned with a mega speaker for the price we got it for. The first shop we went into we were pretty lucky with i think. After trying many speakers, and most being pretty terrible we tried a 600w bass speaker that wouldn't look out of place in a chaved up ford fiesta. Turned out to be the best speaker, and we even haggled him down from £16 to £12. Not bad for a bass speaker!
Quite looking forward to tonight because a lot of TTC colleagues are coming to our apartment and we’re all going to go out to Aladdin's. Aladdin's is our local bar that serves the cheapest beer. Infact, we’ve gone there so much that they have given us a VIP card (maybe me not personally, but collectively) which makes the beers even cheaper! * We’ve had some great times at that place, although most of those good times i cannot remember. Last time i had to be reminded about the taxi race we had back to our flats. Although these taxis (called tuc tucs) cannot go faster than 10mph, it is still exhilarating to have a race in one and it gets very competitive. I need to get those pictures of us, they’re great.
I think the others are arriving now
