Another 3 days riding I finally got to the most southern city in the world, Ushuaia on Tierra del Fuego island situated on the beagle channel. The ride down was fairly boring with the Patagonian wind living upto it's reputation with the bike being on a 45 degree angle for most of the way and the scenary was as exciting as crossing the Nullabor Plain, I haven't been so excited before to get on a car ferry to cross the Magellan Strait just to get a break from riding into a head wind for the last 3 days and it was only a 1/2 hour trip across to Tierra del Fuego, then back into the wind. The best part of the ride from the last 6 days was the last 100kms going into Ushuaia with forest, lakes and mountians along the way and Ushuaia is a great place which made the long journey worth it.
Stayed in Ushuaia for 3 days visiting the Martail Glacier where you catch a chairlift for about 1km and then walk for another km to get to the base of the glacier with spectacular views of Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel. Went on a yacht cruise on the channel and stopped at ´´H`` island where there were Cormanan colonies and other various birds and sea loins, nice trip but bloody cold.
